Merry Christmas

I have a few minutes to wish you all a Merry Christmas. I know I owe you all more pics on the Picasa account (linked from this site). I promise to upload some more pictures next week.
The boys are celebrating their very first Christmas and they are going to be 6 months old on Friday! Aunt Brenda sent a very large gift, so large that Amazon didn't even put it in a separate mailing box. Thanks Aunt Brenda.

I'm trying to do 15 things at once today (not sure if it's any different than any other day) to get ready for Christmas Eve at Tiffany and Justin's house. I had to finish Mike's Mom's gift. The cake balls are in the freezer waiting for me to dip them in chocolate and the caprese salad will hopefully be done before we leave for dinner tonight.

I hope you all have a great Christmas!!

Where to begin....

It's been four weeks since my last post. Where has the time gone?? I can tell you exactly where it's gone. Try getting up at 5:30 feed the shorties and then get the big shortie up at 7:00 a.m. to get ready for school. Entertain and make breakfast, get the boys down for a nap and take Lauren to school. I either groom myself or get busy with the chores of the morning (yes, it's a choice that I have to make) and then after the boys get up from their morning nap the chaos begins. We really don't have a set schedule, they are not napping all at the same time, but they all eat at the same time. I'm really working on a eating, playing, napping schedule but it's S L O W. Than after getting Lauren from school, the fun really starts - everyone wants to be held and entertained individually and shall I remind you that it's just me taking care of them at that time. I've gotten Lauren to help as well and sometimes when Mike hears me losing my mind, he will come down and rescue me for a minute. If they are not entertained 100% then they cry and there is sympathy crying at this time too. It's getting a bit much for me to handle myself. We are seriously talking about hiring a nanny for the afternoon to help me keep my sanity.

Thanksgiving has come and went. Brenda and Drew showed up for a visit as well as Mike's aunt and uncle and cousins. It was a pleasant visit and lot of beverages and conversation was had by all.

**I'll update with names and activities soon - I'm tired and going to bed before it's binky patrol around 1 a.m.

Cheetah Girls Concert

Our good friends Robin and Rachel asked us if we wanted to go to a Cheetah Girls concert with them as well as some mutual friends. Of course, I had to accept since I knew Lauren would be all over it. Here are some pics from that night.

Finally I'm getting some time to update this and post some new pics. Let's just say that the time change has really screwed up the Scott family. The boys are way off schedule and are going to bed at around 6 p.m.; which isn't bad but hell hour now begins at 4 and doesn't end until they go to bed. Tonight was a two drink minimum for me!!

HAPPY HALLOWEEN

Just had to post a pic of the boys from today. We are getting ready to go trick or treating in a few hours. I'll make sure to update tomorrow morning.

4 months old

from left to right - Logan, Travis and Ian aka Mr. Personality

The boys are four months old as of yesterday (26th). I can't believe it. It just seems like yesterday that I was waddling around waiting for the day to deliver these boys. I said to Mike last night that I remembered falling asleep on the couch every night around 9:30; I was just exhausted every night. I'm exhausted every night now but for oh so many different reasons.

Halloween is fast approaching and the boys will be dressed alike in orange and white sleepers with matching hats and bibs. We will be going around the neighborhood with Lauren's friend KK and her family, as well as Tiffany, Justin, Ava (sister/brother in law and niece) and Nana. Not sure how long we will hold out but we are going to attempt it.

Thanksgiving is going to be so exciting. Brenda is coming down for a week and I think she is bringing Drew (my niece). Drew is going to be a surprise for Lauren; she has no clue and hopefully it will stay that way. I know that I've almost let the cat out of the bag a few times. I usually host Thanksgiving at my house but this year I thought someone else should host it since the boys are here...but I've reconsidered. With three babies, I figured it would be easier on me if they were in their own room/crib plus there will be plenty of people here to help. Call me crazy - we will find out.

3 months old

LOGAN
TRAVIS
IAN

I'm a bit late (again) but the boys are 3 months old; and have been since September 26. Not much around here has changed. My days go by in a flash. We are still eating every 3 1/2 to 4 hours during the day BUT at night we are sleeping quite well. They are ready to go to bed around 6-7 p.m. and they usually sleep until about 2-3 a.m.
**UPDATE - two nights in a row they have slept from 7 pm to 5;30/6:00 a.m. WHOOO HOOO

A bit of bad news - my computer crashed and I lost about two weeks worth of pictures that you didn't see. I also lost pics that I had that I didn't upload to the Picasa account or on my jump drive. Luckily I put some pics on my jump drive to make prints out of them the day before it crashed - if I hadn't I would have lost a lot more. Mike is still reloading some of the programs that I had on the computer. I was without a computer/internet for about two days - talk about some withdrawl symptoms.

I've had some time to upload some pics to this site as well as some video. I'll also upload the rest of the pics to my Picasa account (see the link to the right New Pics).

I think the boys are ready for some baby food now. We feed them rice cereal before bed and for breakfast and they are eagerly awaiting for that spoon to hit their tongues. Our next appt with the pediatrician is on 4 November so we will find out how much they weigh.

New pictures posted

The boys at 13 days old

and at 7 weeks

Looks like I'm not getting to update this blog as often as I would like to. Oh well.

Latest pediatrician visit shows that Ian is a chunk!! He is 11.8 lbs and Travis and Logan are neck and neck at 9.12 lbs.

The boys are starting to smile although I don't get many of them since I'm the butt wiper, booger catcher, etc. They are also sleeping a bit more at night.

Taking care of the three babes and Lauren is so much fun. Perhaps it's because I wanted another baby for so long. Don't get me wrong, it's not easy; there is always something to be done either for the boys or around the house. Taking a shower sometimes is a privilege. Boy sometimes I even look forward to going to the grocery store!!

We are getting out more often. We have gone to two of Lauren's soccer games and even went out to lunch with some friends last weekend. We are still trying to get used to the stares and the comments that we get when we have all three with us. We sometimes try not to make eye contact. So far the winning comment is "Did you have triplets on purpose?" As I was biting my tongue, I was nice with some kind of generic answer (I know it's shocking). I know some of you can guess what kind of answer Mike wanted to give; luckily he wasn't with me.

Lauren is in her third week of school and boy is she loving it (sarcasm). She is beginning to have homework and I now have to find time to help her with it. Soccer season has begun and her team is doing pretty well, considering we have 5 new players on our team which makes our roster up to 13 girls.

I've posted some more pics on our Picasa website - the link is to the right (New Pictures).

Keep the cards and letters coming....

A day in the life of.....

The boys are already 6 weeks old. It's hard to believe, but time is flying by.
I am so thankful everyday that these boys are healthy. Ian, the chunk, was 7 lbs 12 oz, Travis was 6 lbs 12 oz, and Logan was 6 lbz 11 1/2 oz at their 1 month old visit almost two weeks ago. The pediatrician is extremely pleased that they are growing like weeds.

The boys are eating 28-32 oz of formula or breast milk a day EACH. So we are going through a can of powdered formula a day and at least 24 diapers a day!! Our day consists of feeding the boys every 3 hours, washing bottles, making formula, changing diapers, and doing laundry. Very little time goes to eating, and sleeping for us. We do have alot of help and that is the only thing that keeps us sane. We have Mike's mom spending the night M-TH to help with the late night feedings and I have a friend that spends the night on Sunday and she does the feedings all by herself in order to give Mike and I a full nights rest.

Lauren is still in love with her baby brothers. For some reason she doesn't like to feed them anymore. I've gotten her to change pee-pee diapers, but boy am I still working on her to change those poopie ones (not sure if I will ever get her to do those - heck she refuses to even touch them to throw them away). School starts in two weeks and I think she is going to have a hard time leaving these boys all day.

Guess what? It's time to feed the boys again.

It is scheduled......

The boys will be arriving on June 26th. My c-section is scheduled for that morning at 7:30. At that time, I will be 35.2 weeks along. The chances of the boys being in the NICU too long are slim. We are pretty excited that it won't be long now!!
I'm extremely excited since I'm having trouble breathing and talking at the same time (and many of you know that is what I do alot!!). It's getting harder and harder to get up and down. But I know it's all going to be worth it in about 11 days!!!!

ALMOST 32 WKS AND OFF OF BEDREST

I had my OB appt on Thursday and since I've had no more bleeding for two whole weeks, I'm officially off of bedrest. I still have to take it as easy as I can but at least now I can get out of the house for a bit. My energy level is way down but that is ok. I'm taking it easy now since I don't think I will be able to sit down for the next 3-4 years.
I'll be 32 weeks on Tuesday and I can now go to the hospital of my choice. I'm choosing to go to the new hospital. I will be their very first triplet delivery (but not my drs first delivery) so perhaps there is special treatment in store for me.
Still not sure how long I will go. Both drs are saying that it's going to be a week by week thing. I'll be seeing my OB every week now and my peri every two weeks.
On Thursday the boys looked great. Baby A was 3.10, Baby B was 3.11 and Baby C was 4.5 lbs. I look like I'm carrying over 11 lbs of baby too!!!!

JINXED -BEDREST

It's begun...at home bedrest. I began to have some bleeding on Thursday a.m. so I went to the dr and was admitted for observation. I have a total placenta previa (where the placenta covers the cervix) and that is the reason for the bleeding. I'm ok, the boys are ok. I was given 2 steriod shots to help the boys' lungs just in case they come early. Dr. seems to think we are all ok and I can go for a few more weeks before the boys are born.
Mike was on a business trip when this happened but came home on Thursday p.m. Last time he was on a business trip in March, I was rearended comig out of a parking lot.
So I've told Mike no more business trips until these boys are born.

29 weeks - almost there

Today was my recent OB appt. The boys are weighing 3 lbs a piece and are right on track. I'm doing well too; no restrictions have been placed on me as of yet. I haven't decided which hospital I'm going to deliver at..it all depends upon how long I can keep these boys in here.
The nursery is done, we do need to hang stuff on the walls, but that's not necessary in my opinion just yet.
No new pics of the boys today, I couldn't stand to lay there any longer than I needed too due to the weight of the boys crushing my arteries and depriving my brain of oxygen!!
I've stalled at about 162 lbs and a 49 inch waist for now. My appetite is gone but eat because I know I need to.
Mike has done a great job in running the household as well as working his more than full time job!!! Big Kudos to him.
Lauren is almost done with school and will be done on 5 June.

Not much else going on...just taking it easy and waiting for the boys to come out and play (after they reach about 4 1/2 lbs).

Plugging away....25 weeks

I will be 25 wks on Tuesday the 15th - can you believe it?? Found out that triplets are full term as of 37 weeks, so I won't go past the 8th of July. If I can make it to the middle to late part of June, I will say that I've succeeded. The boys probably won't be able to come home until close to their due date (7/8) per the OB that is the rule of thumb. So if anyone is planning on coming down to help.........

My last peri and OB appts went very well. The boys are 1-1/2 lbs each, which is normal for a singleton so I'm hoping they continue to grow (which in turn makes me grow). Things are getting a little more uncomfortable for me, no more sitting in movie theaters and I have about 20 minutes in any one position anymore.

I know I owe you all a belly shot, last one was done at 16 weeks. Let's just say I'm huge. My maternity clothes are getting small and I'm on ebay bidding on L and XL maternity clothes (oh my)!!!

I will be seeing both my drs every two weeks. They had me stagger the appts so I'm seen by one of the drs each week- every Thursday and I'm sure that is the way it's going to go until the end.

I had my shower last weekend and I'll post those pics. It was a lovely shower with games and lots of food and lots of great gifts. I still have a few things that I'll need but it's not too bad anymore. Of course, I could always use diapers and wipes for quite some time.

Lauren went to girl scout camp this weekend without me. Let's just say it was a bit rough for Mom to let her go. I did better than I thought I would and I only thought about having a beer about an hour after she left. She returned in one piece today.

Mike is preparing the boat for putting it up for sale. A minivan is in my future and I need to get rid of this boat so I can afford another vehicle. We haven't used the boat in over two years- so it's time for it to go!! It was sitting out in front of the house and three of our neighbors want the boat, but are paying for college and other things (Oh, I get it - I will be there soon enough eh?) so I don't think we will have a problem selling the boat when it's all cleaned up and ready to go, but I want it gone yesterday.

Check out the new pics and I promise not to be so late in updating the blog. Girl scout cookie season is over, so no more paperwork, etc relating to that anymore.

19 weeks and counting

Had my peri appt today. Things are still looking good. All the boys are measuring the same size (which is good - there is no evidence of twin to twin transfer syndrome). They are all about 1 lb. The twins looked like they were in some WWF tournament and I'm sure in a couple of weeks I will be feeling that the next time they have a fight in the ring. The peri said they all look good and for me to start taking it easy. I can go on vacation to San Antonio but I will be a horrible houseguest as I won't be able to help do anything.

The nursery is done. We have put together one of the cribs but haven't put the other two in there yet.

My friends have decided on a shower date of 4/6/08 here in the neighborhood. So I've been busy registering for items I think I might need. Lately around here there are consignment shops having their spring sale so I'm going to check one out on Friday..hopefully find some good deals.

I'm feeling great so far. I have an OB appt next week, so I'll be sure to update y'all then. Of course my peri wants to see me before vacation..so I'm assuming that my appts will be every two weeks from now on....more to come.

Update on the boys

I'm so late in updating this site. My last peri appt was 2/13 and my OB appt was 2/14. I had great plans on getting the blog updated with pictures the same day of my OB appt...Well, here I am almost two weeks later updating.

Things are still looking good for all three boys (yes, we are now 100% sure they are boys). The peri did seem to think one was a girl for a moment, but then recanted his statement. They all are the about the same size and are measuring a couple days bigger than the norm.

We are working diligently in getting the nursery set up. We painted one color this weekend and Mike will f/u with the chair rail and then we will paint the second color (bottom half of the room) next weekend and move the furniture in there. Then I can relax right?

I'm feeling pretty good, although I do get tired very easily. I've hit the 140 lb mark and my waist is now 39 inches. Perhaps I need to put down the measuring tape. I also thought I could get along with some small and medium maternity clothes - NOPE - already in medium clothes and they are getting quite tight.

Next peri appt is 3/5 and OB appt 3/13/08. We are going to take Lauren to the OB appt so she can see the boys via sonogram. She is so excited. She was a little disappointed that she wasn't getting a little sister, but she is getting more and more excited about three "babies" being in the house. I've told her the story about when I was born and Bob said he "wasn't going to hold no dumb girl" and Mom couldn't get him to put me down when company came to visit.

WE ARE HAVING ......

All three boys!! We found out today at our specialist appt. All three boys...99% sure. In order for him to tell me I had to promise not to go out and buy anything just yet.

Mike's reaction was priceless...with his arms up in the air and the words "YEAH" coming out of his mouth. There were other words coming out of my mouth but we won't say what that was. Let's just say Mike and I are pretty even in the language that we've used in the sonogram room when we've been surprised; we are 2 for 2 for surprises in the last month.

We haven't told Lauren yet, so we are a little nervous to see her reaction. She wanted a baby sister so badly. But I'm sure she will be happy with a baby (3 of them) no matter what.

I've posted all of the sonogram pictures on a link to the right of the page (our pictures). If you have trouble accessing it, please let me know.

Larry, Moe and Curley

Here is my first blog entry. I'm starting this in order to keep everyone updated and so that I can post pictures for everyone to see. (I still encourage phone calls though ;-)

As most of you know, we are pregnant with triplets. As of today we are 12 weeks 5 days along.
I have had three sonograms so far and the babes looks all the same size and are healthy. Since this is a high risk pregnancy (triplets plus my age) I must be monitored by a regular OB and then a perinatologist (specialized OB).

In November, we did another round of in-vitro. We kept it a secret from everyone since this was our third try and it didn't work before. We have a set of identical twins and a singleton.

We have another appt with our specialist on Monday, January 21. At this appt he will be doing the first trimester screening for Downs syndrome. He did it at the last appt two weeks ago, but it was a little early. He and his office are the ones that came up with this testing that is done throught the country now - so I figured if he wanted to do it early, by all means. I'm very fortunate to be here in the DFW area with some great drs.

More to come......
