We have walkers

Just a quick post to update that we have two walking babes. Logan and Travis began to walk on Tuesday (I know, I'm soooo late on this post as well as others). Ian is starting to stand on his own and take a couple steps, but he is not anywhere close to his brothers, but I'm sure it won't take him long to be into everything like his brothers.

Triplet playdate

On Tuesday we had a "double" triplet playdate. Melody and her trio came over and played with my trio for a few hours. It was the first time we all met and I'm sure it won't be the last time we get together.
Both Melody and I were too busy talking so we were only able to take a couple of pictures. Thought getting three kids to look at the camera was hard; try 6!!

More postings to come!!! I have a story to tell, it will almost be as funny as Brenda eating one of Bruno's glucosamine tablets.

One year stats

On June 20th the boys went to the pediatrician for their one year check up. WOW - let's just say that the dr visits have become very stressful. At this particular visit, we had Aunt Brenda helping us as well as Lauren. Unfortunately, we had to wait a bit longer than usual and the boys were wanting to get down and play in front of the door - of all places in that room. I'm hoping their 15-month checkup is a bit less trying.

But here are their stats:

Logan:
29 1/2" long (50% percentile)
18.25 lbs (less than 5%)

Travis:
29 1/2" long (50%)
18.7 lbs (5%) I believe this is the first time Travis has weighed more than Logan.

Ian:
30 1/2" long (75%)
21.9 lbs (45%)

We have successfully graduated from formula to milk and have left most of the bottles behind. We have a 4 oz bottle in the morning, but the rest of the time is sippy cups.

At this appt, we had the dr check out both Logan and Travis for movement in their palette as it appeared that their teeth were moving forward due to their pacifiers....YUP!! there is movement. We let them have their binkies at night and for naps only, but that will come to an end in the next couple of days. They drop their binkies in the middle of the night and in the morning when they are playing in their room, both boys will go searching for extras under their bed. It's quite funny to see these little boys with their butts in the air and their heads going under their cribs to find their treasure!!

We set up the swimming pool that Nana bought them for their birthday. They love being out there - it is a 2 person job to keep them all in there and safe. Travis took the first header out of the pool and we have learned to put a little more air in the top portion of the pool!!

No big plans this weekend, it's the last weekend before volleyball starts for Lauren. Once again our Saturdays will be scheduled with games and then before I know it, it will be time for school.

THE birthday party

It's almost been over two weeks since their birthday and birthday party. Things are finally slowing down here. The boys are back on their schedule..although I wish my days didn't start at 5:45 a.m. but we are working on that (yeah as I sit here at 5:10 working on my blog and listening to two or three little ones crying in their room)

The boys got some great gifts at their party and kept their tantrums to a minimum (right Travis???). It was nice to have most of my family here and all of Mike's family here.

Aunt Jess and Nana waiting for the festivities to begin
Look at this wonderful cake my friend, Christiane made for the boys. It was so yummy, it took us about 4 days to eat it ALL, but we did it!

The boy's individual cakes

Travis and Logan weren't sure what to do with their cakes.

Ian, on the other hand, knew exactly what to do and he loved it.

The carnage

Even Lauren got to "enjoy" some cake, thanks to Uncle Bob

Each boy sitting and opening their gift with Grandpa Johnson

Uncle Bob and Mom putting together the wonderful picnic table that Uncle Bob, Sonya, Keaton and Drew bought for the boys (while Grandpa supervises)

The end product - boy is it hard to get a picture with all three on there. There is usually one sitting appropriately, while the other two are either on the seat or crawling on the table itself.

It was quite the successful birthday party. I said to myself that I would not sweat the small (or even the big) stuff. What happened happened. BUT, I had lots of help. Brenda, Beck, Beverly and Sonya helped keep the house clean and really did all the prep work for all the food. All I had to do was make decisions and bark orders. Mike's Mom helped get the boys dressed - as they still weren't dressed 10 minutes before the party started. I couldn't have done it without all my family helping out.

The following day, when it was forecasted to be 102 degrees, we had family pictures scheduled at 2:00 p.m. After about 20 minutes we were all done. We got some nice pics of the family.

Have a great week everyone!!

4th of July

I'm getting ahead of myself since I haven't posted the boys first birthday pics and pics of the family while they were here, but I will get to that in a day or two.

We took the boys to the city's parade yesterday and set up the corral. It began with the firetrucks and ambulance and the boys were quite impressed. We got blasted with some water from super soakers that were part of the parade. I was quite pleased as it was already 98 degrees outside (at 10:00 a.m.) but the two little boys in my lap were less than pleased with getting squirted. Overall the boys enjoyed their first 4th of July parade.

We then took off to go to Target to pick up....MILK...not formula. We opened our last can of formula yesterday and will be done with it maybe tonight. Once we got home after our 4 hour trip outside the house, it was nap time.

Daddy put in the seat belts in their choo choo wagon and we took them for a walk at 6:30 p.m. holding off bedtime as long as we could. Big mistake, we should have waited for another time, it was 100 degrees at 6:30 p.m. and Mom pulling that wagon with three little boys sure made for a workout.

More updates to come.....
