23 months!!

I can't believe the boys are going to be turning 2 next month!! It just seems like yesterday we had the Johnson crew along with the Skinner crew here celebrating their first birthday. I do know that Aunt Brenda will be here again to celebrate my birthday as well as the boys birthday...not getting a whole lot of commitment from the rest of 'em.

This time of year is a little crazy around here (not like it's not ever crazy here). With the end of school coming up, end of all Lauren's spring sports teams, the end of the boy's Mommys Day Out program and planning their birthday party, I am a little pooped at the end of the day. I have had to start using a dry erase board just to keep up with the daily/weekly activities.

Today was the last day of Mommy's Day Out for the boys. So now I need to be a little creative in how I'm going to get out of the house to run my errands. But luckily with guests coming to visit, Emily (the nanny), Nana, and our vacation, it shouldn't be too difficult this year!

Til the next story...

Crazy hair day for Ms. L

Every year the school has a day that the kids can do crazy stuff to their hair. Well, last Friday was it. I, of course was informed of this on Thursday evening.
So was is a Mom to do??? I searched on google for ideas...and this is what we came up with.

Nothing but a couple of styrofoam cups and hair paint, OH and lots of hairspray.

Surprisingly, it stayed this way all day long! Can I just say that I rock!! (thanks google)

Mothers Day

My Mother's Day started quite early; 12:01 a.m. to be exact. Both Mike and I were woken up by Travis and as we were sitting there in the living room, Mike looked and me and said "Happy Mothers Day!!"
I sent Mike back to bed and I stayed up with Travis from 12 a.m. to 4 a.m. He was inconsolable for some reason. You see Travis now has this "thing" that he has to hold something i.e. a small strip of paper, plastic ring off the milk jug, whatever is small and you can't see what he has hidden in his hands. WHEN (not if) he loses it at night, he becomes frantic and I think that is what happened on Sunday morning and we just couldn't calm him down. Finally at 4 a.m. Mike came out and put Travis in bed with him and I laid down and fell right asleep. Apparently Travis did too (I don't think Daddy got much sleep tho).

Travis was up and at 'em as soon as he heard his brothers wake up on the monitor....6 a.m...right on track!
Mike let me sleep until 8:45 when Lauren couldn't wait any longer to eat. Pancakes were on the menu and I didn't have to cook them!! The boys went down for their nap shortly after I got up.

I hung out with Lauren and opened my gifts. She painted me a picture frame and put a picture of herself in it as well as a glass angel which she paid for herself. Mike gave me an 11" digital picture frame. I've been hinting that I needed a new one since Ian broke my other one!! And of course, I had cards from everyone!

As soon as the boys went down for a nap, Mike took one as well. Once Mike woke from his nap he found me napping on the couch with Lauren....darn it...I was sent back to bed for another nap. Later on the day, we had Nana, Ted, Tiff, Justin and Ava come visit.

Unfortunately, no pictures were taken yesterday :-( Not having enough sleep and one of the boys being off schedule really threw me off. But it was nice to sleep in, eat without having to cook anything ALL DAY and spending time with family!! Not sure it could get any better!

And look at this....2 posts so far in the month of May!!!

Bluebonnets

I know, I know. You might have thought I forgot about this blog...but I haven't. Everytime I sit down to blog, there is something else that comes up that needs to be done NOW and then by the time I get back to blogging, it's time for bed.

This year we had bluebonnet pictures taken by one of my favorite photographers http://www.stefanimarcus.com/. We didn't do pictures last year as I thought it would be too difficult with 8 month old babies...well I'm not sure if 21 month old toddlers was any easier. Ian, of course, was so easy to photograph. Logan was just plain ornery, and Travis didn't warm up until about the last 5 minutes of the session (remind you that it was a 20-30 minute session).

and this one just cracks me up.....the looks on their faces.

There is so much more to talk about...but I will leave that for another blog post..so May isn't like April...one blog post!
